We work together with equines and children (K-5) to create a very special Christian learning environment to practice reading, writing, math, and social skills. Why Choose LEARN Aiken?
Research shows that young children learn best through novelty and play. In recent years, educational gaps have emerged due to COVID-19 and distance learning. LEARN Aiken provides a fresh approach, allowing children to learn in a new way through hands-on experiences with equines. This program offers an alternative to the traditional classroom, helping students develop skills they can carry back to school for greater success.
With a safe, supportive environment, LEARN Aiken provides individualized instruction through one-on-one sessions or small group classes of no more than five students (grades K-5), ensuring each child receives the attention and encouragement they need to thrive.

Why Horses?
LEARN Aiken is not a riding program but an educational experience where all activities take place with feet on the ground—no prior horse experience needed. Horses play a vital role in our program due to their unique ability to create a calming environment for learning. Their larger electromagnetic field, lower heart rate, and steady breathing can help regulate a child’s nervous system, fostering relaxation and focus. This is why horses are often used in therapeutic settings.
Our equines have been rescued from auctions or difficult situations. At LEARN Aiken, they find a safe, loving home and a renewed sense of purpose—helping children grow in confidence, learning, and resilience.

This is a great way for your child to practice their reading and get acquainted with the equines. while improving their reading skills. This is a 30 minute one on one interaction session.

These are tailored sessions with small groups of children, no more than 5 students, working with the equines and learning math, reading and social skills. These sessions can range from 1-2 hours.
