Angela Ziel taught in the Las Vegas area for over 24 years before moving to Aiken, South Carolina, where she has been teaching for the past four years. She has experience in both public schools and Christian private schools. Angela holds a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Master of Arts in Education from Prescott College with an emphasis in Equine-Assisted Learning. She has been involved with horses for 15 years.
Several years ago, Angela felt called to combine her passion for both children and horses. This led her to Prescott College, where she discovered how to integrate these two loves into her teaching. Along the way, she was introduced to the Horse Powered Reading Program®, developed by Dr. Michele Pickel at Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota. She immediately knew this was the perfect way to bring her vision to life—using equines to help children develop literacy skills in a hands-on, engaging way. Now, through LEARN Aiken, she is able to fulfill that mission, creating a dynamic and Christ-centered learning environment where children can grow academically and emotionally.
