Kids, Education, and Equines

We are so glad that you have come to our website to get information about what we do here at LEARN. We work together with equines and children (K-5) to create a very special Christian learning environment to practice reading, writing, math, and social skills. Feel free to look around and email us with any questions.

Why Choose LEARN Aiken?
Children learn best when they are engaged, having fun, and experiencing something new. LEARN Aiken combines hands-on learning, rescued equines, and individualized instruction to create an educational experience unlike a traditional classroom.
Our K–5 students learn in a safe, supportive environment through one-on-one or small-group sessions of no more than five students. We help children build confidence and strengthen reading, writing, math, and social skills they can take back to the classroom—and into everyday life.

Why Horses?
At LEARN Aiken, learning happens with our feet on the ground—no riding or prior horse experience is needed. Our rescued equines create a calm, engaging environment that can help children relax, focus, build confidence, and connect with learning in a different way.
But there’s another important reason we use horses: our equines have a story, too. Rescued from auctions and difficult circumstances, they have found a safe, loving home and a new purpose. As children learn and grow alongside them, both can experience trust, confidence, resilience, and a second chance.

Why Literacy?
Literacy is the foundation for learning and opportunity. When children learn to read, write, and understand the world around them, they gain the confidence and skills to succeed in school and beyond.
At LEARN Aiken, we make literacy fun, meaningful, and engaging. By helping children discover the joy of learning early, we build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning that can last a lifetime.

We customize a learning session with your child's individual needs and interests in mind.

Your child will be interacting with equines and gaining skills in problem solving.

There are lessons on reading, writing, math and social skills.

Our lessons help with learning to read, so that eventually your child will be reading to learn.

Some lessons are designed to help your child learn strategies that will benefit them in all of their academic subjects.

There is generally less stress and anxiety around equines and they help promote a calm and relaxed learning environment.
Growing Knowledge. Growing Food. Growing Futures.
We’re excited to introduce a new hands-on learning experience at LEARN Aiken—our very own greenhouse!
Our greenhouse will provide local students with opportunities to learn by doing. Through field trips, educational programs, and interactive farm-to-table experiences, children will discover where their food comes from and how agriculture connects to everyday life.
Students will have the opportunity to:
At LEARN Aiken, we believe some of the best learning happens when children can get their hands in the soil, see the process firsthand, and experience the joy of growing something themselves.
We’re not just growing plants—we’re growing curiosity, confidence, responsibility, and a deeper connection to God’s creation.table experiences
